Audio Obscura
An audio and visual installation that takes inspiration from the popular tourist attraction “Camera Obsucra” located in Edinburgh. Utilising reactive audio, “Audio Obsucra” allows the participant to experience auditory illusions designed to disorientate and get out what they put in to the experience. For example, the more the participant speaks into the microphone, the more affected the visual of the user becomes on screen.
Some Users found the installation overwhelming describing the experience as a sensory overlord. This achieved the desired effect from the creators. It gave a great opportunity to talk and explain relating concepts with the installation. It has been said that people are exposed to endless amounts of data online that can become too much to handle, much like how a person with normal hearing for their age cannot turn off their hearing.
